While I was a student missionary in Mexico, I realized those at home also have great needs, but for different reasons. It could be said in a relative way, everyone here has heard of Jesus, yet a personal relationship with the Lord is relatively unheard of. We want to make known His real relational love.

In third world Missions, Christ is taught and time is available to meet and mentor. In the hectic pace of our world, we need a casual Christian gathering place where we can be spiritually uplifted or get help and talk to someone, any day of the week. As Christ followers, we need to be available, to be relational. An open Christian coffeehouse will create immediate, real time opportunities to hear and help in Christ like ways.

The World is generally mistrustful of the Church. When secular people are introduced to Christians they are often filled with fear of being confronted and convicted. Much of the World thinks Christianity is all about money and how to get it from us, as well, different Churches keep telling us different ways to gain God's favor so in the end we're often left feeling disillusioned and disconnected.

Our attempt to change perceptions will be by changing our focus. He simply says "Be still and know I am God", and this will be our mantra. We will give the work of changing hearts to God and try to stay out of His way. Trust will be earned through our open honestly and integrity. Our agenda will be to be agenda-less. We'll be more approachable by the World when we just let God have control and let Him reveal Himself as He will. This will be a place for God to work subtly through the atmosphere to soften people's hearts and we'll be accepting of everyone, wherever they are on their walk. For some, music may be all that's needed to experience God and provide food for thought. In this case less is more, but others will take advantage of opportunities to learn and partake in small groups.

An open and available Gathering Place will show the community, everyday, who we really are. Christians are loving and generous by nature and it won't seem out-of-character as we prove it in practical ways. The world will learn they needn't be afraid of us and we will genuinely be know by our love for one another.

Getting together with like-minded people in a warm spiritual environment will also promote a sense of healthy well-being and belonging.
